GNSF! The numerology behind Jay-Z and Beyoncé baby’s name

Rap royalty’s couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé welcomed home a baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, via c-section Saturday in NYC’s upper east side. The couple reportedly spent $1.3M to reserve a whole floor at Lenox Hospital. Their daughter already is the most famous baby in the world.

But what’s in the name Blue Ivy?

Blue – comes from Jay-Z’s best album “The Blueprint” (2001). It was rated as Vibe Magazine’s “Best Album of the Year”, and even  received a 5 mic (out of 5) rating from “The Source” (a distinction reserved for hip hop classics).

Ivy – comes from the roman numeral IV, which stands for both mother and father’s birth dates being on the fourth:

Shawn Corey Carter born December 4, 1969

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles born September 4, 1981
