GN$F! Rap Quickies: ‘I see white people’

WTFlocka?! Dope actresses, Sienna Miller and Blake Lively, were passed up for Lindsey Lohan to play Victoria Gotti in Nick Cassavetes‘ new film, Gotti: Three Generations, an upcoming movie about the mob family that will star John Travolta and Joe Pesci. This move seems more like a nepotism favor, since the real Victoria Gotti is good friends with the Lohans. This is a huge cosign favor by Victoria Gotti since Lohan is desperate for a film role. Last year, the troubled actress was passed up for a role in Inferno, for being ‘impossibly uninsurable’ as quoted by the director. I don’t mind so much if Lohan gets casted (because she is a good actor although a Blake Lively would’ve a nailed the part- she proved herself as a dynamic actor in The Town) but, really tho’ if Kim Kardashian gets casted as Gotti’s wifey? I am going to barf on Nick Cassavetes.

A-list actress, Ashley Judd shitted on Hip-Hop music in her new book, All That Is Bitter And Sweet. She wrote, “Along with other performers, YouthAIDS was supported by rap and hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg and P. Diddy to spread the message…um, who? Those names were a red flag…most rap and hip-hop music – with its rape culture and insanely abusive lyrics and depictions of girls and women as ‘ho’s’ – is the contemporary soundtrack of misogyny.”

Female respecting, conscious rap is hard to find in the mainstream. So, you can’t really blame an outsider like, Ashley Judd, to think what she thinks. Nor does she know that we actually have conscious rappers –whom don’t get radio rotation for being too positive – like, Common, The Roots, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Dead Prez et al. Hip-Hop champion, Russell Simmons, whom works alongside Ashley Judd in the fight against modern slavery, sees the two sides of the coin by interviewed her so she could voice her mea culpa.

Actor Gwyneth Paltrow recently sat down with her rap mogul pal, Jay-Z – really, in an effort to cross-promote each other’s new blog sites Life+Times and GOOP– and asked about the state of cool:

GP: You are the coolest man on Earth, how the f did you get like that?

JZ: I’m around great women, starting with my mom. Women keep men cool. The hotter the chick the cooler the guy … that sounds like a really bad rap line!
